Living on Tulsa Time

After a busy week of classes, tests, quizzes and papers the week before Tulsa Time, I was rewarded with an awesome weekend. A group of friends and I embraced our Okie roots by throwing on our cowgirl and cowboy boots and going to a country concert at Tulsa’s famous Cain’s Ballroom on Friday night. It rocked. Jake Owen, or as I like to call him, Jakeeeey was quite the entertainer. Our college student habits paid off because we studied up on his song lyrics before the concert. It definitely added to the experience because we were able to recognize songs and sing along too! The next day my voice fully recovered from the concert and I spent the day studying and working out with friends. It was a pretty low-key and relaxing day, topped off by the oh so embarrassing moment of handing a Chipotle employee a Qdoba coupon…true story. Eventually we sorted it out though and the story ended happily- Qdoba chips and queso in my belly. On Sunday I helped with TU’s Tulsa Time admission event. Hosting two prospective students in my room was a complete blast! We ate, played games, watched the All Campus Talent Show, and played sardines. It was so exciting getting to meet so many potentially new TU students on campus! A new week is underway now and thankfully the weather has been warm enough for shorts, chacos, and some sweet frisbee action! Until next time, Go TU!
